Looks like the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and Golden Globe show host Ricky Gervais have kissed and made up - well, not really since there no spat anyway. But what there was, was an uproar to Gervais' er, sense of humour displayed during the show.
"When you hire a comedian like Ricky Gervais one expects in your face, sometimes outrageous material. Certainly in this case, he pushed the envelope and occasionally went too far," says the HFPA. They were still, however, still generally pleased with the show's proceedings. Gervais in turn has said there is no bad blood between him and show's organiser: "Everyone took it well, and the atmosphere backstage and at the after show was great."
ither. "Everyone took it well, and the atmosphere backstage and at the after show was great," he said in a statement.
UPDATE: The Hollywood Foreign Press and now Ricky Gervais have spoken out about last night's show.
But did they call each other out?
RELATED: What was the best—and the worst—of the Globes?
Nope.
According to the Golden Globes givers and the Golden Globes host, all is well.
"We loved the show," the Hollywood Foreign Press said in a statement to E! News. "It was a lot of fun and obviously has a lot of people talking."
"When you hire a comedian like Ricky Gervais, one expects in your face, sometimes outrageous material. Certainly, in this case, he pushed the envelope and occasionally went too far," the group continued. "The HFPA would never condone some of his personal remarks. Overall, however, the show was among the best we've ever had and we were pleased."
According to Gervais, there are no hard feelings between him and Hollywood, e
And as for that long gap on Sunday's show in which Gervais was M.I.A.? It was a long gap, Gervais explained—nothing more, nothing less.
"I did every single introduction I was meant to," Gervais said. "…I was allowed to choose who I would introduce in advance. I obviously chose presenters who I had the best jokes for. (And who I knew had a good sense of humor)."
Mystery solved! Controversy defused! Now about Robert De Niro's acceptance speech…

Nasty or funny?
The show's host, Ricky Gervais, took no prisoners and held nothing back as he stuck it to Hollywood's mightiest with acid filled humour:
"It's gonna be a night of partying and heavy drinking, or as Charlie Sheen calls it, breakfast."
"It was a big year for 3-D movies: Toy Story. Despicable Me. Tron. Seems like everything this year was three-dimensional—except the characters in The Tourist."
"All that happened was some of them were taken to see Cher in concert. How the hell is that a bribe? Really, Do you want to go see Cher? No. Why not? Because it's not 1975."
"And I'd like to quash this ridiculous rumor going around that the only reason The Tourist was nominated was so the Hollywood Foreign Press could hang out with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. That is rubbish. That is not the only reason. They also accepted bribes."

Quotes from the red carpet
E-Online caught up with the stars as they made their way down the red carpet.
Modern Family's Sofia Vergara on how she stays in such incredible shape: "I'm looking good for my age. I do everything in moderation. I try to eat healthy. I try to work out at least two or three times a week."
Michael Douglas opens up on battling cancer: "Doing great! Tumor's gone, and this type of cancer doesn't usually come back. I gotta check in every month, but I'm so happy to be out. This is our first time out in months and months. And to be able to come to this cancer-free is pretty special."
Justin Bieber reveals how important his dad is: "My dad lives in Canada, and he doesn't get to come see me often…He gets to come to as many shows as possible, but I love my dad and I'm really happy that he's in my life."
Has soon to be baby mamma Natalie Portman chosen a baby name from a book yet? "I've gotta wait. I've definitely been thinking about it, but I haven't done the book or anything. I'm open to suggestions."

Young Hollywood at the Globes
What a way for the Globes to reach a much, much younger audience! Justin Bieber has been added as a presenter to Sunday night's glamorous event.
The Biebs will be presenting with True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld. Another youthful face will be the newly single High School Musical star Zac Efron.
The Biebs and Efron under one roof? We're sure millions of teen gals (and perhaps their mothers too) are already squealing with glee.

More Twilight at the Globes?
It is no secret that Twilight star Robert Pattinson will be a presenter at the Golden Globe Awards. That leaves most Twi-hards wondering if his on and off screen lady love, Kristen Stewart, will join him?
Unfortunately, not. Sorry to disappoint vampire lovers out there, but E-Online reports that Stewart is too busy filming Breaking Dawn - you know, that little movie that is only the final chapter of The Twilight Saga. It's going to be so big, we're happy to see Miss Stewart giving it her undivided attention. Who knows, maybe this time around she will convince us Bella Swan is human, and not an expressionless wooden stick.

Who is Miss Golden Globe 2011?
What's an award show without a little beauty and bits of pizazz? Luckily the Globes has the Miss Golden Globe and this year the title went to the gorgeous Gia Mantegna, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has revealed.
Traditionally, the title goes to a child of a well-known celebrity who assists in the Golden Globes® Awards ceremony. Gia is the daughter of Golden Globe nominated actor Joe Mantegna and Arlene Vrhel, and she is quickly emerging as one of the most promising new actors of her generation.
HFPA President Philip Berk says: “We are thrilled to have Gia as this year’s Miss Golden Globe. She is just as talented as she is beautiful and will surely be a great addition to the show.” And what a stylish red carpet specimen she will be!

Robert De Niro honoured
They've been around for a while and Hollywood will not be the same without them. We're talking big names, like Robert De Niro - and at this year's Golden Globe® Awards, he will be honoured for his outstanding contribution to the field of entertainment.
He will be presented with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is given every year to those who have left their mark in the business, and we mean really leave their mark. Past recipients include: Martin Scorsese (2010), Al Pacino (2001) and even Barbra Streisand (2000).
No doubt De Niro more than deserves this recognition! We simply cannot wait to see him accept this accolade on the big night!
